The Story so far....
So there we were mid first lockdown, using the time to finally clearout all the LOTR models we didn't actually need and to trying to make all our forces metal or at least convert our many broken plastic warriors to have metal weapons... and so the great Ebay exodus began !
....but as we looked for parts, we discovered the whole world of 3D printed resin, Kickstarters, Patreon MMF+ etc ... just so many alternatives and add-ons available all around the world ... a treasure trove for converters like ourselves !... and maybe an easy way to create those missing armies and figures for our beloved world of LOTR and other game rules....
..but, thankfully, many years had taught us not to rush into things so we put the temptation of our own printers to one side and ordered up a few prints .... and what did we find ? Well, models that still fell off the table or the shelf and broke weapons or even whole arms ... this seemed like expensive plastic to us ! ...( and a lot of resin waste going to landfill !)
So we dared to explore the world of metal casting..... and what a learning process that was... !!
But gradually with help from may along the way, we formed a wish and a plan to take the benefits of 3D design with the great range of models and the detail it offers, but deliver them in good old traditional metal - long term, enduring gaming models that would offer something different and modern ... oh, and have some fun along the way !
So, we certainly aren't going to learn an industry in a year, but with many years of tabletop hobbying we just felt we would share the journey and simply offer for sale, the models we wanted to create for our own armies and see if they would be of interest to others....
We started in the area of light fantasy but we were soon drawn into historical where I started way back in the dim and distant wargaming at school .... but, again, looking at products that could be converted for use across both genres... so making the collection playable across the widest range of rulesets we can..And along the way, we wanted to work to themes and add relevant accessories, terrain etc ... and all the time also thinking about that waste .. at least we felt metal is recyclable, and we decided what we did print would be in eco resin and we'd try with all our packaging to be also easily disposable ... the image of all those piles of discarded supports in our bin going to landfill just sticks in our minds , so we are trying to make small steps to make gaming more eco-friendly .. you never know, it may be our more important legacy ...
Anyway , here's our simple home table used for fun and concept testing... if it isn't worthy to play on here then it won't be on our website !
We hope you like our products and our approach. Certainly many already do .. please see - and contribute to ! - our Customers Gallery & Review page !
